Julia A. Simms, APR


Julia Simms is the award-winning founder of San Diego PR, an international PR, marketing and communications agency.

A recognized leader and 25-year veteran of the public relations industry, Julia brings her valuable experience in strategic PR, media relations and crisis communication to the team. Her passion for economic development and dedication to growing businesses is evidenced in her work with companies and organizations in the fields of  travel and tourism, real estate and construction, international relations as well as government agencies.

Prior to San Diego PR, Julia operated j. simms agency as the president and founder. Established in 1995 as a public relations firm, j. simms agency expanded over the years to provide complete integrated consumer and business-to-business marketing services in the U.S. and Mexico. Her firm was acquired by Globaltel Media in 2011.

Daughter of Jim Frampton, former reporter for the Evening Tribune in San Diego and founder of his own award-winning public relations firm, Julia learned the journalism trade and public relations discipline in the trenches, working for her father’s agency for more than five years. She also holds a degree in business management from University of Phoenix, achieved with honors.

Setting new standards for both the industry and herself, Julia has won more awards from the Building Industry Association of San Diego County for Best Public Relations Campaign than any other person or company in the region. She has also been the recipient of other notable communication designations from Public Relations Society of America including the Eva Irving Community Service Award, the prestigious APR designation and membership within its exclusive Counselors Academy.

Michael Simms

Vice President

Michael Simms brings a vast amount of organizational management and technical innovation to San Diego PR. His three decades of service in the fields of marketing, technology and software development spent in both startup companies and large organizations, has armed him with the comprehensive knowledge of industry trends and business strategies that ultimately allow San Diego PR’s clients to have strong corporate messaging, solid business plans and seamless marketing programs.

Michael holds an undergraduate degree in English and a master’s degree in computer education from U.S. International University. He provides senior level counseling and strategic guidance to clients on a daily basis, evaluating current communications programs and suggesting ways to improve upon their effectiveness, analyzing issues and policies affecting a client by identifying vulnerabilities and threats.

While Michael ultimately settled in San Diego, he traveled the globe as a youth having lived in Karachi, Pakistan, and Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia, as well as time spent all over Europe and Asia. From these adventures, Michael brings to the team a fresh perspective on communication as viewed from all points on the globe.

Tyler Goold

Client Services Director

With more than 15 years of marketing experience with entities up and down the state of California, Tyler has been a visionary in the marketing process for those with whom he has worked. His ability to understand goals and objectives for private enterprise as well as government agencies and match them with creative marketing strategies has led to not only his success, but has translated into significant ROI for his clients.

While growing his own advertising agency in northern California, Tyler worked with city, county and state properties to develop advertising venues as a source of revenue when the economy sagged. He also promoted these government properties through a strategic mix of traditional and digital media. When social media and online marketing was still an emerging field, Tyler was using these tools to promote clients and reach very targeted demographics. His ability to uncover new ideas and technologies has directly impacted the bottom line of his clients.

A California native, Tyler is passionate about being involved in the community and making a difference in both his professional and private life. This passion for people and seeing others succeed is why he volunteers with his children’s extra-curricular activities and many community events. When he is not hard at work on a client’s campaign or volunteering his time with non-profit organizations, you can find Tyler outside enjoying all San Diego has to offer!


Suzanne Anderson

Director of Public Relations and Special Events

Suzanne Anderson’s resolute interest in current events makes her quick to identify developing headlines and always the first to know breaking news. She truly has a natural knack for understanding the media and achieves top publicity results within the agency because of her specialty.

Backed by a strong education in journalism and media studies with an emphasis in public relations from San Diego State University, she is a true public relations guru and seasoned industry professional. It is no coincidence that Suzanne’s vast knowledge of the media in addition to her ability to cultivate and maintain close media relationships has resulted in large placements on behalf of her clients in such national publications as the LA Times, Food & Wine Magazine and Frommer’s Travel.

Suzanne, having lived in both Texas and California, was able to gain a genuine appreciation for different cultural perspectives leading her to develop a modesty that attracts universal appeal. Since joining the San Diego PR team, Suzanne has executed innovative PR strategies acquiring a collection of awards for her clients including the 2011 People in Preservation Award given by Save Our Heritage Organisation as well as the Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation. It is her extensive experience in multiple public relation realms, diverse skill set and a quiet confidence that makes Suzanne integral in producing results that speak volumes.
